Thai Inspired Honey Chicken Wings Recipe
Thai Inspired Honey Chicken Wings Recipe.
What you’ll need:
12 – 18 Chicken Wings (cut into wings & drumettes).
½ cup Honey.
1½ – 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce (or Light Soy).
2 tablespoons Fish Sauce.
1 Lime (cut the top off and squeeze for juice).
½ – 1 tablespoon chili powder or red hot pepper flakes.
½ – 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder.
5 cloves Garlic (grated/pounded).
Lime halves (or calamansi, to be squeezed over the wings during eating).
Thai Sweet Hot Sauce or Sriracha for dipping. See video below for Thai Seafood Dipping Sauce which I adore even with meat dishes!
1. Mix all marinade ingredients in a bowl.
2. Scoop out ⅓ (or lesser if baking, as you only need to baste once) of the marinade to be used for basting during bbq.
2. Add remaining marinade to the chicken wings and mix well. Transfer wings and the marinade into a Ziplock bag. Let them marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight is even better, turning the bag of chicken wings occasionally.
3. Bring the wings out of fridge to let them come to room temperature while you start the BBQ. Grill over medium heat, basting with marinade and turning occasionally. Keep an eye on them as this marinade may burn. Grill until fully cooked.
Note: You may bake them if you prefer at 180°C (350°F). Place the wings in a single layer on the pan and bake for 20 minutes, turn the chicken wings and continue to bake till fully cooked (another 15 minutes or so, depending on quantity and size of wings).
