Smokey’s BBQ @ Sunset Way

The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high that we miss it but that it is too low and we reach it! – Michaelangelo

There were two celebratory occasions that night on 27th March 2014. Firstly, Sejong Korean Language School was anonymously nominated and eventually awarded for having demonstrated exceptional accomplishments in business field. Well done, Sejong!

Secondly, May and Ross are finally embarking on their dreamboat, starting a food stall!

I love frozen mugs when it comes to beer.

Life In A Glass
An Optimistic person see the glass of beer as half full, the Pessimistic person see it half empty, the Blessed Man will just drink it.

Cheers!
I don’t like bitter tasting beer but Pilsner is fine by me.

When one is in a good mood, food tends to taste better, too! So I needed the opinions of May and Ross to average out my review.

Ross liked the Buffalo Wings that were on sale so much, he ordered another 6 pieces after eating the first plate. On Wednesdays only, each wing cost S$1 subjected to a minimum purchase of 6 pieces. I wonder if this deal is available for take-outs. The staff asked if we wanted them spicy and “yes, of course”, we replied. The skin was crisp and its flesh, juicy. The tabasco lingered on my lips but still, I think the well seasoned wings could do with a little more heat.

Was I being fussy? The Pulled Chicken Ciabatta Sliders were not as delicious as I expected. Although the chicken was very tender and moist, the meat tasted like they had been poached in water – bland. The BBQ sauce was slathered on too generously (for my liking), perhaps to make up for the bland tasting protein. Overall, it’ll make a good stand-alone meal.

The Sampler Platter had good combo of Mozzarella Sticks, Mushroom Fritters and Jalapeño Poppers. While the first two items were common, I seldom get to eat Jalapeño Poppers; the peppers were sweet and the filling inside a refreshing change from salsa most places offered at the side.

The Pilsner served in chilled glasses, at S$26 a jug, takes the cake! Speaking of which, I saw a rainbow cake at Buttercake N Cream a couple of shop lot away. Gonna buy me one to celebrate at home with the kids 😀
