Nothing beats a simple porridge meal when ill (I mentioned I wasn’t feeling well after my Phuket trip) but if one still wants to dine luxuriously, then Japanese food is the way to go!
Japanese cuisine is one of my favourite food in the world. The exacting standard that goes into the preparation and presentation of Japanese food, especially if you had seen Jiro Dreams of Sushi, is undeniably an art that literally takes years to master. While the meal I had was not prepared by a shokunin (a skilled craftsman, someone who does the same exact thing every day to the highest possible level in the never-ending pursuit of perfection), they were good value for money. – Sam Han (The Bonding Tool) 29th March 2013.
Our food was a little slow in coming but they didn’t disappoint. The fish and seafood were not of top grade but they were definitely fresh. California Roll was average. Grilled Squid with tasty teriyaki sauce was tender. I enjoyed the flavoursome al dente Yaki Udon. The sake we wanted was out of stock so we had O-cha (green tea). Both of us were not in the mood for desserts. We have things on our minds. Maybe that’s why she was behaving weirdly with the waiter…
I was most impressed by the service of the young part-timer. He was absolutely patient with my obnoxious company who made order-taking a pain in the #@*ˆ.

Happy eating 🙂
P.S. My appetite weren’t ruined by the haze, the humidity, the missing MH370 and certainly not because I was ill. My concern was with Valerie during this period of time and after speaking to my girlfriend, I felt much better but still not good enough to indulge in their a la carte buffet which I’ve always enjoyed (see link provided below).

That 80 cents is strange. Or at least I’ve never seen such a thing.
I’m guessing it makes the food seem cheaper without reaching the next dollar, like 99 cents concept. 80 cents – 8 is an auspicious number (sounds like “to prosper” in dialect) Chinese like 🙂
I like this food, but the cost can build up if you eat it too much.
Their a la carte buffet and premium queen crab course at $48++ per pax are quite reasonable. Good for days where one has huge appetite. I like the other outlet better although the decor here is more refined. Maybe because I ate there first – creature of habits 😀
