I Think You Are Beautiful!

The Chinese festive eating of 6 to 9 course dinners were getting a bit too heavy and we had one dish “western” meal instead.

Sam made us a delicious fusion pasta with already seasoned packaged Japanese lobster meat. Later in the night as I was reading a text from my sister, I got hungry and made a sandwich with the same lobster meat filling before resuming reading her rather long message for me 😉

Packaged Japanese Lobster Meat Western Flavour. I do not know what they mean by western flavour but it tasted a little like wasabi or horseradish. The filling tasted like lobster but looked like tiny prawns. Weird, eh?

So who said history doesn’t repeat itself? Hmmm… Is this a chance to right all wrongs we’ve done in 1997? We would be back in the 20th century if that was true!

Alright then, going back in time, there were some interesting trivia circulating in the 90s and this was one of them:

If the alphabets A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z is represented by the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26. What should we have to generate 100% of whatever we want?

H+A+R+D+W+O+R+K substituted by 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%

K+N+O+W+L+E+D+G+E substituted by 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%

L+O+V+E substituted by 12+15+22+5 = 54%

L+U+C+K substituted by 12+21+3+11 = 47%

None of the above equates to 100%. What makes 100%?
Money? No, that’s 72%.
Leadership? No, that’s 97%.

Since every math problem has a solution, perhaps the answer lies in ATTITUDE – our attitude towards life and work! Can it be? Do the sums, you know the formula by now!
ATTITUDE = 100%

Well, Calvin Huang, a commercial food photographer in Singapore, sure possess the right attitude and in my opinion, that has made him successful! I have been On Set with Calvin Huang before and will post more about his work again in the coming days.

The message further delivered some motivational and thought-provoking words:

The above is similar to what I have read somewhere and some sage (was it Lao Tzu?) said,

If you are depressed, you are living in the past.
If you are anxious, you are living in the future.
If you are at peace, you are living in the present.

Every problem comes to make or break us. The choice is ours whether we become victors or victims.

Beautiful things are not always good but good things are always beautiful.

Do you know why God makes gaps between fingers?
It is done so that someone who is special to you may come and fill those gaps by holding your hands forever.

Happiness keeps you sweet but by being sweet you brings happiness.

      Yes I did.
      Have you ever had “knowledge” that you are going to fall ill? That’s what I’m feeling right now, sluggish and heavy. A chore to get up and go out 😦

    I wonder about the ” western” food … and ” western” clothes that I often read on anything Asian. I guess hamburgers is western ? Hotdogs ?

      It’s easy to identify with western food as those you mentioned but western flavour? I cannot differentiate the taste to be anything significant to western. Still mind boggling, lol…
