Hungry But Lazy? Let Your Fingers Do The Walking!

The year end festive season does leave one drained but it’s not over yet, not for the Chinese anyway. I can already hear the galloping hooves of the Wood Horse! The Lunar New Year is fast approaching!

Prior to the steed’s arrival, it is customary for us to tidy up our house. This involves major “overhaul”of the home we called Spring Cleaning – throwing out old stuff and replacing any wears and tears, shopping for Chinese New Year clothes, decorating the property with auspicious sounding plants and ornaments, pre-ordering foods that bear propitious names from restaurants or if you can afford the time like my friend, bake your own pineapple tarts and other CNY cookies!

As you know by now, my children get off work late, usually after 10pm, and most restaurants would have closed by the time they get there. The only choice was to cook a simple meal like salmon tomyum at home or order in fast food. This spring cleaning week was especially busy for us and left us too tired to cook. We were also sick of fast food still, lacking for choice, we had Korean instant noodles.

This Pat Krapow was made from scratch but I think it didn't make it quite as good.

As a consolation, we garnished our rice to make it pretty.

Last week, Groupon (group coupon = deal-of-the-day website) was introducing an online food delivery portal. I’ve been very satisfied with my purchases for Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant and Modern Asia Diner (MAD) so far, thus I thought I’ll give it a try and reward my children with real food! But I will let my fingers do the walking 😉

Our food will be delivered tonight (20th Jan 2014) and I’ll share our experience afterwards.

Happy eating 🙂

P.S. I just realised I haven’t done my post on the Groupon purchase for Ah Yat yet, lol… I have eaten there quite a few times last year and posted the pictures on my Facebook, I have mistaken that I did a post here too! Will update once I find my pictures.
