Sambal Prawns Recipe
Sambal Udang (Sambal Chilli Prawns)
300g Prawns (remove shells and devein)
3 tablespoons Sambal Tumis
½ red Onion, sliced (optional, for extra crunch and sweetness)
1 – 2 teaspoons Vegetable Oil (if using onions then 2 tsp oil, otherwise 1 tsp is enough)
1. Heat oil in pan. Stir-fry onions till translucent, if using.
2. Add prawns and stir-fry for about 2 minutes.
3. Add the sambal tumis and fry till prawns are well coated with the sambal and fragrant.
4. Season to taste, if necessary (sambal is already seasoned).
Serve with rice and sliced cucumbers and tomatoes or as a condiment to Nasi Lemak.
